How did FPS begin?
FPS was born from recognition that despite being equal opportunities employers, decisive action needed to be taken to improve the ethnic minority makeup of the Media industry's workforce across the Yorkshire & Humber region.
A three-month independent research study was commissioned with funding from the Fair Play Partnership in early 2003 to identify the barriers BAME individuals faced when trying to enter the media industry; and made recommendations about what could be done to address this.
FPS is a catalyst for change and has supported 77 individuals through the scheme since 2003.
